Toyota Corona’s New Look for 1978 release

In September 1978, Toyota announced a complete change in the full model range of Toyota’s popular Corona series, the first such change in over five years. The basic body styling had changed to “emphasize a relaxed mood, fitting for a family car.” Although exterior dimensions were kept about the same as in the earlier model, greater space has been provided in the passenger compartment and luggage trunk. Toyota also claimed that “a completely changed suspension system and an improved engine mounting have resulted in greatly reduced noise and vibration factors.” These improvements combine with the interior roominess and the use of a more efficient air conditioner to provide much more comfort for driver and passengers alike.

The car model featured in this commercial is believed to be a sporty grade SL Touring model of four-door sedan. Mind the video that says 1977 as it is obviously should be 1978.
